MANNARKKAD: Demands have been raised for the removal of the public prosecutor in the Madhu murder case in Attappadi. A plea for the same was filed by Madhu’s sister and mother in the Mannarkkad court stating that prosecutor Rajendran was unable to argue the case effectively. However, the court rejected the plea stating that it did not have the power to change a prosecutor appointed by the government.

Madhu’s mother Malli and his sister Sarasu have stated several requests on the plea including demands such as the trial procedures should be halted until a new prosecutor is appointed and the current public prosecutor C Rajendran should be replaced by additional public prosecutor Rajesh Menon. The main criticism is that the prosecution is unable to present the evidence accurately in the court, along with two witnesses turning hostile
