THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the establishment of weather monitoring centres in schools through the Kerala School Weather Station project of Samagra Shiksha Kerala, students will be able to monitor weather conditions from school. Children will also be able to record climate change and compile climate data.
As part of the 100-day action program, the Weather Stations will be set up at 240 centres in the state's Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary Schools, including 25 schools in Thiruvananthapuram, where 'Geography' is the main subject. The weather stations will also receive guidance from the Indian Meteorological Department, Kozhikode-based CWRDM and the Kerala Disaster Management Authority. Minister J Chinchu Rani will preside over the function.
