KOTTAYAM: The increase in Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's security, following the allegations levelled by Swapna Suresh, has troubled the public. The K K Road adjoining Kottayam city has been closed completely. With this, the vehicles going through the road were diverted troubling the people, including those who were on their way to Kottayam General Hospital. However, even amidst tight security, two BJP activists waved black flags at the chief minister. They have been taken into custody by the police.

In the city, the police halted a family who were on their way back home after a baptism ceremony. The family said that the police directed them to wait and go after one hour. In many places, disputes arose between the public and the police. The delegates’ meeting in connection with the KGOA state conference was scheduled at 11 am. However, the meeting was preponed to 10:30 am, in the wake of the protests. The security arrangements had begun by around 8:30 am itself, causing trouble for the public and students, who were on their way to schools.

Meantime, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said that the police have created an impression of a world war in the city. Journalists have also been issued special passes for covering the event. Reportedly, wearing black masks have also been prohibited. Meanwhile, the chief minister, who arrived in the city, is currently attending the event. A 40-member security team will accompany the chief minister. There are five people in the pilot vehicle and ten others in two commando vehicles. There are eight people, a pilot and an escort team for quick inspection. Apart from this, further security has also been arranged. Heavy police force has been deployed outside the venue as well.
