Youth Congress general secretary Rahul Mamkootathil has levelled harsh criticisms against the extraordinary security arranged for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for the event in Kottayam city. Ridiculing the chief minister’s speech at the KGOA conference, Rahul said, “Dialogue is good, then what’s the need for such tight security?”. The leader expressed his criticism through a Facebook post and also mocked the chief minister, asking him not to worry.

In the wake of the chief minister’s event, police had closed the KK Road and the road nearby Kottayam General Hospital by around 8:30 am. The move caused a lot of difficulties for the public and students, who were on their way to offices and schools. Meantime, the police arrested two BJP activists for waving black flags at the chief minister. There are around 10 vehicles in the chief minister’s escort.

Meanwhile, the chief minister indirectly responded to the allegations raised against him, at the conference. “Will find out who is behind the people saying such things. Whoever it be. Don’t try to intimidate us”, he said.
