THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Finance Department has sanctioned Rs 145.17 crore to a consortium of co-operative banks for the distribution of this month pension to retired employees of KSRTC. Procedures for distribution of pension will start from tomorrow.

At the same time, the Finance Department did not consider the demand of the KSRTC management for an additional assistance of Rs 35 crore for the distribution of salaries. Rs 82.5 crore is required for salary distribution. Overdraft of last month was paid off using Rs 30 crore allotted by government this month. There is still a small amount left to pay. The move is to take an overdraft of Rs 45 crore once it gets completed. In addition to this, the management is trying to distribute the salaries of the month of May with the help of Rs 35 crore government assistance and from the funds of daily collection.
