NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, along with Priyanka Gandhi, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at their office in Delhi, for questioning in the National Herald money laundering case. Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by activists and leaders, shouting slogans in support of the leader. The activists and leaders were taken into custody by the police. Rahul’s advocates were also denied entry into the ED office. The detained leaders have been shifted to Tughlaq Road station.

AICC general secretary K C Venugopal collapsed amid the protests. Activists including senior Congress leaders were brutally handled by the police, said K C Venugopal. It was a deliberate use of force by the police, he added. Venugopal tested Covid negative, the other day.

Meantime, the police declared curfew in the ED premises, ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s questioning, in order to prevent further protests. Many leaders including Congress working committee members, MPs, and chief ministers of various states had decided to accompany Rahul Gandhi to the ED office. However, the police barred the move citing law and order issues. The Congress announced that it will conduct hunger strikes in front of all the ED offices in the country.
