THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Monday said that there was an attempt to attack the Chief Minister inside the plane in the name of the strike. He said that the CPM will provide protection to the chief minister.

"The party will provide protection to the Chief Minister. No one will be able to block the CM if the party takes over security. We will make sure that no one gets too close. The people who are protesting against the Chief Minister are the ones who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi," Kodiyeri said.

Earlier, LDF convener EP Jayarajan had blocked the Youth Congress activists who protested against the Chief Minister inside the aeroplane.
