KANNUR: Strict decisions were taken at the first meeting of the re-organised Maritime board. The meeting presided over by Chairman N S Pillai has directed to maintain accounts on all transactions. For three years starting from 2018, the renovation of the ports was halted due to the board's failure to maintain the finances properly. Even the budget was not passed, which led to halting of developmental activities.
The meeting has also decided to find entrepreneurs to start business at two and a half acres of land of Kozhikode port department and to provide facilities. Many important decisions were taken aimed at improving the board.
