ALAPPUZHA: The police had arrested youth congress activists who staged protests all over the state seeking the resignation of the chief minister in the gold smuggling case. However, in the FIR registered at Noornad police station, the actual CM himself was made accused by the police.
The mistake happened in the structure of the sentence. The content of the FIR stated that the accused in the gold smuggling case protested against the allegations levelled against the Hon'ble Chief Minister. When you read this for the first time it seems that the accused in the gold smuggling case is the chief minister. This error could have been avoided if a coma was put after accused in the gold smuggling case or had written the accused in the gold smuggling case who levelled allegations against the chief minister.
Station officials responded that there was no error and only an issue of a coma and that things would become clear if the FIR is read.
