NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has fined Air India Rs 10 lakh for denying boarding to passengers despite having valid tickets. Several passengers had accused Air India of denying their travel despite having adequate tickets and arriving at the airport on time.
Following this, the DGCA conducted checks at airports in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Delhi. The inspection revealed that Air India had not complied with the rules. The company was also found to have failed to pay compensation to passengers. With this, the DGCA issued a show-cause notice to the company.
