NEW DELHI: It has been found that the Aadhaar data of over 11 crore farmers have been leaked from the website of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. Computer security expert Atul Nair found that there were security vulnerabilities in the dashboard feature of the website and that the Aadhaar numbers of farmers have been exposed.

According to Atul, minor changes to the basic script of the website will make it easier for hackers to access the data on the website. “PM Kisan website provides a dashboard feature to view various charts and data. An endpoint in the dashboard was leaking Aadhar numbers of all the farmers based on region (state, district, village),” he said.

Atul is a security expert serving in the Cyberdome of the Kerala Police.
