NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will question Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case on Friday as well. The ED said that today's interrogation was over. There will be no questioning on Thursday.
The Congress leader arrived at the ED headquarters in Delhi at 11.35 am on Wednesday for questioning. So far, Rahul has been interrogated for about 30 hours. The interrogation was led by the ED Assistant Director. The ED has also asked Congress president Sonia Gandhi to appear for questioning.
Leaders and activists protesting against the ED action clashed at the AICC headquarters. About 800 leaders, including Jebi Mather MP, were arrested by the police yesterday.
Rahul, who arrived at the ED office with his sister Priyanka Gandhi at 11.40 am, was interrogated in two stages as in the previous days. He was interrogated for about 20 hours on Monday and Tuesday.
The Delhi Police had yesterday blocked Congress workers from coming to the party headquarters to protest against the move against Rahul. Police arrested Mahila Congress activists led by JBebi Mather MP and leaders like Sachin Pilot and Vineet Poonia for violating police directives. Later, there was a scuffle between the police and the activists at the party headquarters. Police stormed into the office premises and beat the activists. They were also seen dragging away some leaders. The police withdrew after the leaders led by the general secretary of the organization KC Venugopal protested.
