NEW DELHI: The number of Covid victims is on the rise in the country. In 24 hours, 12,213 people were diagnosed with the virus. This is an increase of 38.4 per cent over the previous day. On Wednesday, 8,822 people were diagnosed with the disease. Eleven new deaths were reported.
Presently there are 58,215 active cases in the country. According to the Union Ministry of Health, this is 0.13 per cent of the total cases. The test positivity rate is 2.35%. In 24 hours, 7,624 people were recovered. This brings the total number of cases to 4,26,74,712.
The transmission of the disease is turning severe in Kerala. 3419 were confirmed of the virus yesterday. Seven deaths were reported. The TPR rate is 16.32. Ernakulam has the highest number of Covid cases. 1072 people have been diagnosed with the disease in the district. Second is Thiruvananthapuram (604).
