PALAKKAD: Former CPM leader, accused in the case of trying to film a woman on a mobile phone while she was inside a bathroom, has been remanded for 14 days. Shajahan (38) of Kodumbu Ambalaparambu and CPM branch former secretary was taken into custody from Tamil Nadu.

He confessed that he had tried to film her using his phone. He was drunk at the time of the incident. He said that he saw light in the toilet and tried to capture the visuals on his mobile.

The woman shouted when she saw a hand coming through the ventilator. Shajahan ran in fear and while running, lost his mobile from his hand. The mobile was later recovered from near her house. She lodged the complaint along with the phone. Shajahan was suspended when the case was registered.
