KOCHI: According to the affidavit filed in the court by Swapna Suresh, CM Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter's plan to start a business in Sharjah got cancelled following the objection of the wife of the Sharjah ruler. The affidavit also stated that the Sharjah ruler's wife was annoyed with the behaviour of CM's wife Kamala. The affidavit was filed along with the request to give a confidential statement in the ED case of gold smuggling.

From the affidavit

Since 2016, biryani vessels had been transported from the Consul General's home to Cliff House. These biriyani vessels contained heavy material. The vessels will be then filled with biryani after placing foil paper on top of the heavy material. This was handled by Sivasankar at the Cliff House.

The Consul General said that the then Minister KT Jaleel had influenced Calicut VC Mohammad Bashir to give D-Lit to the ruler of Sharjah. Swapna added that the CM and Sivasankar called the Consul General and her to the Cliff House and requested that the ceremony be shifted to Thiruvananthapuram and that a private meeting be arranged with the ruler of Sharjah. The Chief Minister's wife Kamala also demanded to see the Sharjah ruler and his wife. Kamala promised the Sharjah ruler's wife jewellery, gold and diamonds. Swapna added that Kamala, Nalini Netto and she went to the room at the Leela Hotel in Kovalam and met the wife of the ruler of Sharjah. The ruler's wife became upset when Kamala started to talk business right away.

The discussion regarding Veena's business plan in Sharjah took place on the morning of September 26, 2017, at Cliff House. Although further talks were held with Sheikh Fahim, the son-in-law of the Sharjah ruler and IT minister, the project did not materialise due to objections from the wife of the Sharjah ruler.
