MARAYOOR: A helper has been arrested for hacking a differently-abled plantation supervisor to death in Kanthalloor. Thoppil Benny (59), a native of Anachal Chenkulam, was found murdered in a building near the plantation in Pallanadu. Police arrested Yadukrishnan (21), a mentally challenged man from Kanthalloor Churukulam in connection with the incident. Police said that Yadhukrishnan had confessed to killing Benny.

The murder took place at Marayoor Pallanad on Wednesday night. It was some plantation workers who found Benny lying dead. The motive behind the murder is not clear. Yadukrishnan had been with Benny for three days. It is alleged that an altercation between the two led to the murder. Benny had been working as a supervisor at a plantation in Pallanadu for a long time. The body has been shifted to Kottayam Medical College for postmortem. The accused will be produced in court today.
