GANDHINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited his mother Heeraben Modi on her 100th birthday, at her residence in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar. Heeraben stays with Modi’s younger brother Pankaj Modi.
After seeking his mother’s blessings, Modi washed her feet and performed Pada Puja. Various religious programmes have been organized in nearby temples in connection with the birthday celebrations. The Modi family has also arranged a community meal at Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad.

After his visit, Prime Minister Modi also shared an emotional note on social media. "Today, I feel extremely happy and fortunate to share that my mother Smt. Heeraba is entering her hundredth year. This is going to be her birth centenary year. If my father had been alive, he too would have celebrated his 100th birthday last week. 2022 is a special year as my mother's centenary year is starting, and my father would have completed his," he wrote on Twitter. Modi had last visited his mother in March.
