Violent protests against the Agnipath scheme are rife across the country. In the wake of the prevailing conditions, soldier and director Major Ravi has expressed his response over the issue. The idea of the scheme is good. But it did not work out, Ravi said.
There is a big danger lurking in the Agnipath scheme. With this scheme, there will be no other recruitments to the military. The biggest danger is that about 75 per cent of the recruits will have to leave the forces after four years. This new decision is disappointing for millions of people who have sent in their applications for joining the army, he said.
Although the government is saying that cuts are necessary in all fields, it is not practical in the military, opined Major Ravi. The security of the nation lies in the hands of our soldiers. Only specially trained soldiers can go for battles. A person, who joins the army, can become a courageous and patriotic soldier only after undergoing various training programmes. It will take a lot of time. It cannot be possible in four years, Major Ravi wrote in a media article.
