PATNA: The protests against Central government's Agnipath scheme have led to a loss of Rs 200 crores to the Railways. A senior railway official informed that fifty coaches and five engines were burnt completely.

For the third day in a row, the protesters have set fire to trains, railway stations and damaged them demanding the withdrawal of the project . Prabhat Kumar, the Divisional Manager for the Danapur Rail Division said that platforms, computers and various technical parts of the railways have also been damaged.

The protesters burned a dozen coaches, including each coach in passenger trains from Bhabua Road, Sidhwalia (Gopalganj) and Chapra railway stations. Three coaches of Barauni Gondia Express were set on fire. They also attempted to set fire to a train engine in Siwan district. Authorities informed that three AC compartments of the Vikramshila Express were looted and set on fire.
