KOCHI: 35-year old Pathanamthitta native Ajimon surrendered in ACJM Court Ernakulam,for human trafficking. He sold woman who were brought to Kuwait on visiting visa to Arab families. Ernakulam South police have registered the arrest and remanded him in judicial custody.
A case was registered against Ajimon and first accused Kannur native Majeed, who is in Kuwait for human trafficking. It was based on a woman's complaint. He has also been charged with money laundering. Ajimon surrendered after being denied anticipatory bail.
He was running a recruitment agency called Golden Via at Ravipuram, Ernakulam. Women from poor families are trafficked to Kuwait saying it was look afer children. A salary of Rs 60,000 is offered.
The police is unable to contact the first accused. It is said that he is in hiding. The NIA is also conducting a parallel investigation into the case.
