THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 15,000 pending applications on land conversion were settled as part of file settlement yajna in May and June. 71,048 paper applications are pending. The government had earlier decided to settle all applications in November.


However, a meeting of the Revenue Secretariat held yesterday decided to complete the paper applications in seven RDO offices within a month. Thalassery, Kasargod, Mananthavady, Idukki, Devikulam, Thiruvalla and Adoor RDO offices are included in this category. Applications from the remaining 20 RDO offices will be settled by November. Minister K Rajan intervened on these issue following Kerala Kaumudi report.

After the review meeting chaired by Revenue Minister K Rajan on May 26, 10,751 applications were settled till June 16. Since January 2022, 1251 online applications have been settled. Although a number of applications have been processed, at one stage the number of pending applications has exceeded 130,000, On the basis of Kerala Kaumudi report, Rs 31.61 crore has been sanctioned for special settlement proceedings. In addition, 972 temporary employees were hired. More than 300 rental vehicles were also provided.
