KOCHI: Aram Salam, a Plus Two student at Barstow School in Kansas City, USA, raised Rs 40,000 to buy a piano for BUDS School in Elamkunnapuzha. This 17-year-old boy raised the amount by cleaning lawns and selling his old toys. Aram is the son of Kanjirapally native Dr Taju Salam Madathil and Vypinkara native Hashna, who are permanent residents of Kansas City. His hobbies are playing the piano and tennis.

During his holidays. Aram also performs solace music programs at Alzheimer's rehabilitation centers in the United States. He also formed the organisation 'Alzheimer's Awareness Club of Barstow School' along with his four classmates.

During the pandemic, Aram had organized an online concert with friends at the club and raised Rs 5 lakh, He then donated this amount to Vypinkara.
