IDUKKI: A pet dog was found guarding the body of a retired assistant sub inspector (ASI), who was staying alone, for a whole day. K K Soman (67) of Adimali was found dead inside his house. When Soman did not pick up the phone, his nephew Umesh came in search of him and knew about his death then. Soman’s dog Unni, was seen guarding the body the whole day.

On being informed, the locals and the police reached the house. However, the dog did not permit anyone to enter the house. The dog was found calm when Umesh entered the house alone. After shifting the dog from there, took the body to the hospital. The dog has been with the owner for ten years. Soman leaves behind his wife Geetha and daughter Monisha.
