pen

KANYAKUMARI: Kanyakumari Congress MP has lodged a complaint with the police stating that his pen worth Rs 1.50 lakhs had gone missing. In his complaint, Congress MP Vijay Vasanth alleged that he lost his Montblanc pen while attending a programme of Opposition's presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha at a hotel in Chennai. He said that he had inherited the pen from his late father and former MP Vasantha Kumar.

Only the leaders and people's representatives of the opposition parties, including Congress, were present at the ceremony, which was not attended by any public. Vijay Vasanth came to know about the loss of the pen only when he returned after attending the function.

Vijay said that there was a heavy rush at the hotel in Guindy and remember having the pen in his pocket while he entered the hotel but on coming out he found it missing. The Kanyakumari MP immediately lodged a complaint with the hotel authorities.

He said that he had raised only a pen missing complaint and has never in the complaint said that the pen was stolen as made out by certain sections.
