THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Several days have passed since the attack against AKG Centre took place. However, the police are yet to arrest the culprits in the case. Now, CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has come up defending the police. Kodiyeri said that it would take some time to arrest the accused since the incident took place at night.
"The accused can be caught only by conducting a proper investigation. The police are conducting an intensive investigation," Kodiyeri told the media after the CPM secretariat meeting at AKG Centre.
Kodiyeri said that Saji Cherian's resignation as a minister was an appropriate and contextual step. "CPM is a party that works by accepting the constitution. Saji Cheriyan, who realized the problems in his speech, immediately volunteered to resign. He upheld high democratic values. The incident has been discussed far and wide but with his resignation, all those issues are now irrelevant," he said.
