A recent report has claimed that the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) had paid $ 12 million (Rs 95 crores) to cover up sexual harassment complaints against him. The complaint was made against Vince McMahon, the head of the company that owns the World Wrestling Federation, which produces the most viewed wrestling entertainment programs. According to Wall Street Journal, McMahon paid $12 million (Rs 95 crore) to four women wrestlers who filed complaints against him.

The women wrestlers had alleged that McMahon sexually exploited them to participate in the program. A leading woman wrestler was the first to make allegations against McMahon. In her complaint, she alleged that she was forced to perform oral sex several times during the shooting. She also said that McMahon had filmed her nude scenes during the shooting. The wrestler also claimed that McMahon demoted her and proceeded to decide not to renew her contract in 2005 when she refused to continue getting physical with him.

Later, three other female wrestlers came forward with complaints. They alleged that he had asked for sexual favours from them in return for giving them a chance in wrestling events.

The company board held a meeting and announced an investigation soon after receiving the complaints. After being found guilty, McMahon was removed from the post of CEO of the company.
