PATNA: In a shocking incident, students vandalized a school alleging that they were not provided mid-day meal at the school. The incident took place in Katihar district in Bihar. The video of the students vandalizing the school walls have gone viral on social media. According to reports, the students created a ruckus over alleged discrepancies in the implementation of mid-day meal scheme.

The incident occurred at Bairul Upgraded Middle School in Abadpur police station area of Katihar’s Barsoi block. In the viral video, the students are seen vandalizing the school’s boundary, made of tin sheets. However, local media reports alleged that the students were provoked by the villagers. The district administration has ordered a probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, the students also alleged that their teachers forced them to give massages instead of teaching them. Following the complaints, block education officer Mumtaz Ahmed has sought an explanation from the school’s headmaster Gopain Chandra. Strong action will be taken against the culprits, Ahmed said.
