KOCHI: The KSEB has simplified steps for providing free electricity to the lifesaving equipment of patients staying at home. From now on, an application on white paper should be submitted in section office along with government doctor's affidavit stating that the device is essential.

Free electricity is provided for airbed, suction equipment, oxygen concentrators. Earlier an affidavit had to be submitted in Rs 200 stamp paper. This condition was withdrawn due to news reported by Kerala Kaumudi. Free electricity service came into effect in November 2019. 'If free electricity is denied to life-saving equipment, then people can approach my office and action will be taken immediately.', said Electricity Minister Krishnankutty.
