ATTAPPADI: The police have arrested Aji Krishnan, the secretary of HRDS, a company that got involved in a controversy after it provided a job to Swapna Suresh. Aji Krishnan was arrested by the Sholayar police at around 8.30 pm on Monday. Police said that he was arrested on the complaint of assaulting tribal people and land grabbing.

Aji Krishnan's son Nikit Krishnan said that his father was returning from the DySP office after filing a complaint on another case when he was called again and arrested. Aji Krishnan came from abroad on Monday morning.

High Range Rural Development Society (HRDS) is a voluntary organization working in tribal areas including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Tripura, Assam and Jharkhand. The SCST Commission had earlier ordered an inquiry into the complaint that the organization had encroached on tribal land.
