THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kollam Kureepuzha native Johnson Antony was forced to walk on his hands as polio took away the ability of his legs in childhood. But that didn't stop him in life, he fought back with courage and hardwork. Johnson now raises cows, goats and hens and also takes tuition classes to children.

At the age of fourteen, he started earning through poultry farming. After completing B.Com degree, he started taking tuition. With that income, he first bought goats and then cows. He is 45-years old now.

Johnson raises different varieties of hens, cows and goats. Commercial egg production is his main source of income. People regularly come from Tamil Nadu to buy chicks. With his savings, he built a house in seven and a half cents. He milk cows, goats and also sells the milk.

Now he has got a temporary job at the Thrikadavur village office via employment exchange for six months, still he does all the regular work at home. His wife Riya and daughter Nikitha, tenth standard student, also helps him. In 2018, he received the 'Youth Icon Award' given by the state government.
