THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: If the government agrees, the lucky person, who will win the Onam bumper this year, will get a prize of 25 crores. The government is likely to decide on this recommendation of the lottery department today. This will be the highest first prize in the history of the Kerala lottery. The ticket price will be 500 rupees. This will also be a record.

The lottery department has also recommended increasing the second prize to Rs 5 crore and the third prize to Rs 1 crore each to 10 people. The sale will start as soon as the government decides on the prize amount and ticket price. The first prize was Rs 12 crore for the last three years. The ticket price is 300 rupees.

It is hoped that the acceptance of the lottery will increase because of the large prize money. However, agents are concerned that higher ticket prices may affect sales.
