KOCHI: The High Court on Monday directed that employees in the posts of sweeper, garage mazdoor, office attendant and peon in KSRTC should be paid first along with drivers, conductors etc. The court also directed the corporation not to look at whether the basic category employees are permanent employees or part-time employees.

Employees should be paid this month's salary if possible by August 5th or 10th, the court said. It was Justice Devan Ramachandran who gave the directions on the petitions filed by employee R Baji and others against the delay in salary.

Earlier, the court had ordered that those in supervisory posts shall be paid after paying salary to basic category employees like drivers, conductors, mechanics etc. The new order was issued by amending this one.
