KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has sharply reacted against political murders. The court said that observance of Martyr's Day cannot replace the pain of loved ones and political killings are ruining the lives of many people.

"Observance of Martyrs' Day only ignites the animosity of political rivals. No such commemoration can replace the pain of mothers, widows and orphaned children. The prosecution often fails to investigate the murders," the court said. The court made the observation while acquitting the accused in the Vanchiyoor Vishnu murder case. The court also stated that no evidence could be found against the accused. The High Court acquitted 13 accused today. The court's order came in an appeal filed by the accused questioning the sentence.
