THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Widespread rain is predicted in the state today. Yellow alert has been sounded in all districts. Met Office informed that the southern districts will receive more rain than the previous days.

There will be more rain in the afternoon. Rain will continue for the next few days. Yellow alert has been sounded in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod tomorrow.

Authorities have advised fishermen not to venture into the sea due to the possibility of strong winds and high waves. The reason for the strengthening of monsoon winds is due to the low pressure over the Odisha coast and low pressure in the Arabian Sea.
