MALAPPURAM: A policeman was injured in an elephant attack. The incident happened at Pothukal in Malappuram. The injured cop of Kozhikode A R Camp has been admitted at Nilambur District Hospital.

The cop identified as Sangeeth sustained injuries this morning. He was attacked near the Pothukal forest station in Nilambur. He was injured when he was chasing the tusker that reached a residential area after crossing the Chaliyar River. He was taken to Nilambur district hospital. The doctors directed to take him immediately to Kozhikode Medical College. Meantime, the elephant has gone from the residential area.
