PATHANAMTHITTA: Three members of a family died after the car in which they were travelling collided with a SUV at Enathu Wednesday morning. The dead have been identified as Rajasekhara Bhattathiri (65) of Madavoor and melsanthi of Kalari Shree Bhadrakali temple and of Valampiripilly Madom in the capital city, his wife Shobha (63) and their son Nikhil (320. The accident happened this morning at 6.30 am on M C Road.

The couple died on the spot itself. Nikhil died while undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. The car in which they were travelling from Madavoor to Kulanada in Pandalam collided with the SUV coming from the opposite direction.

The four passengers of the SUV identified as Anaz (26) of Chadayamangalam, Jithin (26), Ajaz (25) and Ahamed (23) sustained injuries and have been admitted at Adoor taluk hospital with minor injuries.

Initial reports said the driver of the SUV fell asleep and the vehicle crossed onto the other side of the road and collided with the victims’ car.
