THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The body found in Kulachal is suspected to be that of Kiran who went missing. His father Madhu said the band found in his hand is similar to that of Kiran. Kiran, a native of Naruvamoodu went missing in Azhimala on Saturday afternoon. Police said only after a DNA test it can be confirmed whether the body is that of Kiran.

His father said that Kiran will never commit suicide. Kiran went missing when he came to see his female friend of Vizhinjam, whom he got acquainted via Facebook. The youths who accompanied Kiran told police that the girl’s brother and relatives attacked and then abducted him. The locals told police that they saw a youth falling into the sea on that day.

The Vizhinjam police are investigating following information that a youth had fallen into the sea. The police got the CCTV visuals of the youth running along the road leading to the beach from the camera of a private resort in the area. The youth was seen looking back while running. There were no footages of anyone following the youth. There is a CCTV camera in the shop of the youth who beat Kiran, but the shop was locked and so it could not be checked.
