NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the bail plea of Pulsar Suni, the prime accused in the actor assault case. A bench led by Justices Ajay Rastogi and Abhay S Oka said that bail cannot be granted at this stage and if the trial prolongs, he can approach the court again.
The Supreme Court rejected the bail plea stating that the charges against Pulsar Suni are very serious and it is not right to interfere when the investigation is on. The government had strongly opposed his bail plea. The government counsel argued that Pulsar Suni is one who has a direct role in the crime.
His bail plea stated that all the accused except him was granted bail in the case. Proceedings related to the case may drag on indefinitely as further probe is going on. Suni requested to grant him bail as there is no possibility to complete the trial proceedings in the near future.
Meantime, the high court postponed to Friday considering the plea filed by the survivor alleging that the case is being sabotaged. The case was postponed as per the request of the survivor.
