WASHINGTON: James Webb Telescope, the world's largest and most powerful space telescope, has made another major achievement after showing the deepest infrared view of the universe that has ever been taken.

James Webb Telescope discovered signs of water in WASP-96 b, a type of gas giant planet located 1,150 light-years away from the Earth. Crucial information lies in the spectrum of the atmospheric composition of the exoplanet WASP-96b.

An exoplanet is a planet that orbits a Sun-like star outside the solar system. More than 5,000 exoplanets have been discovered so far.

In addition to water, the presence of haze and cloud was detected in WASP-96b. WASP-96b is located in the Phoenix star community in the Milky Way, a galaxy that includes the Solar System.
