MUSCAT: A disturbing video showing eight people, including five Indians, being swept away into the sea, surfaced on social media. The tragic incident took place at the rocky shores of Oman’s Salalah Al Mughsail beach on Sunday afternoon. The visuals of a family being swept away by a giant wave are being widely circulated on social media.

Five Indians, including three children of an expatriate family from Dubai, went missing. The accident took place while they tried to click pictures crossing security barricades at the Mughsail tourist centre. A total of eight people met with the accident. Of which, three were rescued by the civil defense and ambulance authorities.

The members of a north Indian family, who were vacationing at the beach, met with the accident. The dead bodies of two Indians, including a child, have been found. The dead has been identified Maharashtra native Shashikant (42) and his six-year-old son Shreyas. Shashikant’s daughter Shreya (9) has not been found yet. A search operation is underway to find the rest of the people.
