THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services has issued a warning that there is a possibility of high waves of 3.5 to 4.0 metres and storm surge on the Kerala coast from Vizhinjam to Kasaragod till 11.30 pm on Friday.
Thiruvananthapuram District Collector Dr. Navjot Khosa informed that fishermen and residents in coastal areas should be remain alert. As the sea surge is likely to intensify, people should evacuate from the danger-prone areas as per the instructions of the authorities.
Fishing vessels such as boats should be safely tied and kept in the harbour. Keeping a safe distance between boats will avoid the risk of collision. Should ensure the safety of fishing equipment. Beach visits and other activities in the sea should be completely avoided, said the warning.
