THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister V Sivankutty in the Assembly said that all students, who are eligible for higher education, will be ensured admission to further education. Responding to discussions on fund requests, he said that there is no need to worry about the first-year higher secondary admissions.
"4,23,482 students are eligible for higher studies. 10 percent seats were increased in the first phase and 20 percent in the second phase. 10 per cent increase in seats is allowed In aided schools in seven districts as per applications. There are 9990 seats in Polytechnic and 61,429 seats in ITIs for higher education," the minister said.
"In 2022-23, 871 teachers have been given appointment approval. 4733 vacancies in primary section, 2086 in high school section, 554 in higher secondary section and 571 in vocational higher secondary section have been reported to PSC. The post determination for the academic year 2022-23 will be held in July. An order has been issued for the appointment of temporary teachers to the posts, including the posts lying vacant due to non-existence of rank list," he said.
