THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan supported former minister and senior CPM leader M M Mani’s remarks against Vadakara MLA K K Rema.
Kodiyeri opined on the intervention of union ministers in the state. ‘It is good that the union ministers visiting the state for development projects. However, there are bad intentions behind it. None of the schemes announced by the central government are being implemented in Kerala. The Centre is not ready to implement the Nemom Terminal, Palakkad Coach Factory and railway medical college. However, the national highway development is done in collaboration with the state government. The decision to have a national highway with a width of 45 meters was with the intervention of the LDF. The central government voiced obstacles. The government informed the central government that they would bear 25 % of the cost of land acquisition, but the BJP said it is their project. As part of this, they are trying to create trouble in the state.’
Kodiyeri also spoke about banning several words in the Parliament. Kodiyeri criticized that this is the result of a move to lead the country to a dictatorship. In the future, there will be a situation where the speech will have to be given according to the note given by the Parliament. This is something that does not happen even during an emergency. Kodiyeri also alleged that Parliament is being made a scarecrow.
Meantime, Kodiyeri did not respond on the remarks of former minister and senior CPM leader M M Mani against Vadakara MLA K K Rema. Kodiyeri said there is no need to correct Mani’s statement. What was said in the assembly should end there. Mani’s remark was to make clear that the CPM has no role in the murder of T P Chandrasekharan, added Kodiyeri.
Kodiyeri also responded to opposition leader V D Satheesan's participation in the programme of Bharatiya Vichara Kendram. Responding to a media query, Kodiyeri said that someone like Satheesan would not just participate in such a programme. He is a person who learns and understands things. Kodiyeri said that after losing in Paravur, he participated in the event to get the votes of RSS to somehow win the elections.
