PALAKKAD: The Palakkad North Town Police arrested BJP former booth president Prajeev of Kalipara in the suicide of mahila morcha leader. He was arrested on the charge of abetment of suicide. Mahila morcha Palakkad mandalam treasurer Saranya Ramesh committed suicide a few days ago. She had held Prajeev responsible for her death in her suicide note. Saranya's family had requested to probe the role of the two names mentioned in her suicide note.

The police are now investigating focusing on Prajeev's phone call list. Prajeev said that he had a cordial relation with Saranya. Prajeev said BJP leaders have a role in her suicide and they had constantly threatened her. 27-year-old Saranya was found hanging inside her rented house in Mattumanda on July10. She leaves behind her father Rajan, mother Sasikala (Thangam), husband Ramesh and children Ramcharan and Riyasree.
