KANNUR: An investigation team of the Vigilance has once again started an investigation in the school bribery case in which Muslim League leader KM Shaji was named accused. It was alleged that KM Shaji took a bribe of Rs 25 lakhs in 2014 to allot a plus two batch in the Azhikode school. The vigilance team reached the school and collected evidence.

There was no significant progress in the investigation for almost a year. A team led by Kannur Vigilance DySP Babu Peringeth reached the school and collected the evidence. The investigation team recorded statements of school management representatives, teachers, staff etc.

The investigation into the corruption case registered in 2020 is at its final stage. Meanwhile, the vigilance officials responded that they could not reveal more details regarding the case.
