KOZHIKODE: Heavy rain is continuing in various parts of the state. Two people died in rain-related incidents in Kozhikode. A 12-year-old student fell into the pond and died in Cheruvannur. The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Mirshad, son of Musafir. Mirshad fell into a pond while going home on his bicycle from the madrasa. Although locals rescued him from the pond and rushed him to the hospital, he was pronounced dead.

In another incident, a man named Abhilash (40) drowned in a temple pond in Alissery. He had gone missing after falling into the pond full of moss and mud. Abhilash's body was found after a search conducted by the Nadapuram Perampra scuba team after they received information from the Edachery police station

Naikkambady colony native Babu (35) died in a minor landslip in Wayanad. The incident took place on Saturday afternoon when an earthwork collapsed during the construction of a private person's house wall. He was taken out by the fire force, Ambalavyal police and locals. Although Babu was rushed to the hospital, he could not be saved.

Meanwhile, Revenue Minister K Rajan said that rains will continue in the state for five more days. A yellow alert has been issued for five districts tomorrow. The minister also informed that 23 camps had been opened in the state.
