KANNUR: The Assistant Commissioner's report gave a clean chit to the police on moral assault against a couple in Thalassery. According to ACP Ilango's report, there is no footage of the police beating Pratyush on the station's CCTV. The report also states that women police officers were present while arresting Megha.

Pratyush was injured during the arrest while being taken into custody. The commissioner also said that Pratyush was not beaten by the police. The section that Megha attacked the police can be re-examined at the time when the charge sheet will be submitted. If she didn't attack, then that section will be omitted and the charge sheet will be submitted. The police had a suspicion that they had come to sell cannabis. The commissioner also said that a couple had been caught there earlier while selling cannabis.

The complaint was that the police attacked the couple who came to see the sea bridge. According to the complaint filed by Pratyush, he was dragged to the station for asking questions to the police and was stopped at a place where there was no CCTV and was beaten up. Police arrested the couple when they came to see the Thalassery sea bridge at 11 pm on July 5. The complaint also stated that he was attacked by CI Biju and SI Manu of Thalassery station. An FIR was registered against them for allegedly assaulting the police and obstructing official duties.
