KADUTHURUTY: A plus one student and her parents extorted Rs 15 lakh after threatening to expose her friend’s lewd pictures in bad sites. The incident took place in Manjoor panchayat near Kaduthuruthy. Her friend had constantly threatened the plus one student living near Appan Kavala saying that some people has her obscene pictures in their hands.

Both the girls are classmates of a higher secondary school in Njeezhoor. Fearing humiliation, the girl's family paid nearly Rs 15 lakh. The girl and her family threatened over the phone and in person that the pictures would be posted on bad sites. The girl discontinued her studies out of fear and stayed at home. Still, her friend and family did not stop the threat. With this, the girl's parents complained to the police. The police have taken the statements of both teams and have started an investigation.
