KUWAIT CITY: A mild earthquake was experienced in Kuwait today morning. The earthquake occurred at 2.30 am local time. The earthquake with 2.9-magnitude on the Richter scale did not cause any major damage. The epicentre of the earthquake was near the southwestern region of Al-Ahmadi Governorate. KNSN informed that the earthquake occurred at a depth of eight meters underground.

Two weeks ago, five people were killed in an earthquake in Iran. There have been five earthquakes in southern Iran. The magnitude ranged from 4.2 to 6.3 on the Richter scale. The tremors of that day's earthquake were also felt in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar and Afghanistan. Meanwhile, no damage was reported anywhere in the Gulf.
