A A Rahim MP has expressed criticism against KPCC president K Sudhakaran’s response over the controversy in connection with Mahila Congress’ protest. The protest staged by the Mahila Congress and the KPCC president justifying it are highly objectionable, said Rahim on Facebook. Sudhakaran has insulted comrade M M Mani with the same dirty tongue with which he had addressed the chief minister as toddy tapper’s son. Mani is black. Congress is driven by racial hatred, which cannot tolerate a black man becoming a minister and an MLA, Rahim wrote on Facebook.

Sudhakaran had earlier said that aren’t Mani’s face and chimpanzee’s face alike. What did we do wrong for it to have turned out like that? It should be said to the creator, he said. The Mahila Congress had staged the march in protest of Mani’s remarks against K K Rema. The activists had used a cutout, showing a chimpanzee's body and Mani’s head, for the march. As the incident turned controversial, the activists hid the cutout. Opposition leader V D Satheesan, who was to arrive for the inauguration, left midway too.
